I've played live poker for about 6 or 7 years now. I do really well LIVE so I started playing online poker as of last year. I deposited a little money on
Ultimate bet and did nothing but lose it all. So I put $25 on Bodog, and ran it up to $250, started playing no limit, and lost it all on a couple good hands I flopped (flopped trips with 2 blanks and went all in and someone called to hit runner runner flush, then flopped a nut str8 and some1 pushed and had trips that boated on river). I was down to like .87 cents and ran it back up to $270 (i know thats sick but I really did) and then had the same streak of bad luck again. Some have said "you ran up .87 to $270 thats awesome, but my view is that I did it twice and lost it twice and thats not awesome in the least. I realize now that maybe I shoudn't be playing NL on any site if I don't know what I'm doin (which I've put my money in with the best hand showing). So here's my "Question".....Should I distribute my money amongst all sites, or put it all in the one that I've won on in the past? As my friend is up $800 on ultimate bet, but I only lost money there. I'm up on
Bodog but he's never won there...Please share your wisdom with me o' great ones...

There's no way you should lose all your bankroll in a single hand. If you play cash game, use Ferguson Bankroll management : go to a table with 5% of your bankroll and leave the table when you have 10% of your bankroll in front of you.
Using that strategy will limit you to lose between 0 to 10% of your bankroll in a single hand.
The downside of that s that force you to play on lowest stakes but if this is not a shame to do that
Personally, I distribute. I have 3 sites I like very much, and the reason I break up the money is because when I have a bad run, and I mean a BAD run, as I have latley with Poker Stars, I switch sites. I havent played PS in about 2 weeks, and have had a great run of play at another site. If my luck shifts, I can always go back to PS.
I suppose its all a matter of preference, but thats what I like.
play em all
but not at the same time, for some reason when i play stars and tilt at same time only stars pops up and i time out of full tilt a lot
I play in 3 sites PS, FT and Bodog. I find different type of players in Bodog but, I like all 3, PS has the most FR and I enjoy playing them.
Take care and best to you on the felt

I really think it depends on what level you play at. I am a low stakes player, but that doesn't mean I can't lose a decent bankroll in a really short time. That means that I have to take advantage of any special offer that comes along.
I guess the only regret I have about online poker, besides losing sometimes, is that I didn't establish my FullTilt account thru a rakeback site. If anyone knows how I can get that done retroactively, I would appreciated it. I have already missed out on a nice piece of change. If, or should I say when I lose my bankroll there, I will start looking for a better offer at a new site.
It all depends on what you are looking for...
If you are looking for something really common - say low buy single table holdem sngs, then playing a single site can make a lot of sense. (it can simplify things like bankroll mangement)
On the other hand if you are looking for something less common - say Omaha MTTs, then you may need several sites to be able to get what you want when you want it.
I used to play several but now I have narrowed it down to FT the most ,I like everything about it , PS I play rarely ,I just don't like the old fashioned software or the 1 outers lol or the lame freerolls , I do have bodog but have only played in one railbirds game to try it out so far I'm not impressed with their software , the tiny screens and chat just annoy me personally.
The point is I think it is best to be selective and put your efforts into 1 or 2 favorite sites instead of building a little bit here and a little bit there all over the place, also it's very important to pick a site you're comfortable personally , I like having at least 2 sites because you can just switch over during a bad run ,gl
WISDOM...aw c'mon. LOL
Live is MUCH different. Obviously online you cannot get anywhere near the read.
Perhaps you are more suited to in-person play than against cyber-opponents.
I'm not sure I am espousing wisdom...merely a suggestion.
I have $$ on 4 sites, though mostly play Stars tourneys and sngs.
Enjoy yourself.
