Setting up Private Tournaments:
Full Tilt:
There is no minimum requirements to set up a Private Tournament on Full Tilt, therefore anyone can set up a Private Tournament:
In order to set up a Private Tournament on Full Tilt you just need to send the following basic information to privatetournaments@fulltiltpoker.com:
Name/Title: {at most 25 characters}
Password: {up to 12 characters}
***Updated***
Date:
Time: {Eastern/Server Time}
Buy-in: {like $5 + $.50, or $10 + $1}
Game: {usually Hold'em}
Limit: {usually NL, but could be Fixed or Pot Limit}
Amount of minimum players expected (typically I leave this number at 2) or Amount of Maximum Players if you wish to limit the number of entrants.
Note: The minimum rake/juice for private tournaments is $0.50 and this applies to $2, $3 and $5 buyin tournaments. The tournament rake/juice is generally10% of the buyin for $5 buyin tournaments and above.
Now that you have the basics, there's other “Options” in which you have to choose from when setting up your tournaments:
Chip Stacks:
For standard buyin tournament it is possible to determine your tournament starting chip stack however, it is dependent on your tournament rake/juice and are as follows:
minimum $0.50 rake/juice - 1500 chips
min. $1 rake - double stack (3000 chips)
min. $3 rake - super stack (5000 chips)
Payouts:
The standard payout structure for the majority of public and private tournaments is the 9 handed payout structure and you can view the potential payouts on this link: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/tourPayout9Hand.php
It is also possible to set up 8 handed payouts, 6 handed payouts, Sit & Go payout structure, winner takes all all and a top 20% payout structure. (I personally use the Top 20% because it give more players a chance to cash)
Blind Structure:
There are 2 options available for your tournament blind structure are the standard 10 minute blind levels or turbo 5 minute levels. It is possible to view the standard multi table tournament blind structure on this link: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/tourStructMultiHold.php
Freeroll or Added Money Tournaments:
It is also possible to set up private money added or freeroll tournaments with a minimum of $25 added to the prize pool from the tournament hosts player account. You will need to provide the tournament hosts player account as well as the e-mail address listed on your player account so that they can transfer the money to the prize pool (It is best that the money be in the account of the person sending the request in so that there is not a longer delay in verification).
Late Registration: ***Updated***
Full Tilt now has the option of Late Registration and as the standard default will set up each tournament with Late Registration through Level 1 of the tournament. If you wish to disable this feature simply let them know and they can disable the feature.
** It can take up to 4 Days for
Full Tilt to set up your Private Tournament so make sure you allow plenty of time for delays.
**Also, once you have gotten the confirmation with your Tournament ID from the Tournament Department DOUBLE CHECK on the site to be sure that everything is correct as they can make mistakes.
Poker Stars:
In order to be able to set up a Private Tournament on Poker Stars you must have at least 2000 lifetime FPPs. This means that you could have spent some for tournaments or merchandise that are still counted towards this number. If you are uncertain if you have enough you can email support and they can look into it for you.
Once you have enough email support@pokerstars.com and let them know that you wish to have the option to set up Private Tournaments. They will verify you met the minimum requirements and then activate the option for you in the Main Lobby.
To post a new tournament, log into the Poker Stars software and locate the menu for "Private Tournaments" at the bottom of the "Requests" menu.
Some things to Note :
- The minimum 'Buy-In' is $5.50 and we do not have the option of setting up a Freeroll or a Money added Tournament on Poker Stars. That is an option exclusively for their affiliates.
- A password is required, and must be 6 characters or more and is case sensitive. The password must not be used in the message or tourney name fields, as it cannot be displayed in the tournament lobby.
- Poker Stars recommends that the tournaments be set up several days prior to their start times for best turnout, but they can run events on as little as 60 minutes notice.
- They also advise including the buy-in amount in the name of the event otherwise, players will have to visit the tournament lobby to locate the buy-in amount.
- The "Message" field is optional, and what you place here will be displayed in the tourney lobby in the upper right panel.
- An event can be canceled from the software only if there are no players signed up. Once players have signed up, the event can be canceled only by a system administrator at Poker Stars.

Hi,
I have some questions about setting up a series of tourneys. Before I actually set up and request the tourneys I need a few questions answered.
If I set up a freeroll is the money taken from my account as soon as the tourney is scheduled and posted in the lobby? Do I also have to pay a fee since there is no regular buyin rake? and if there is a fee how much would it be?
Can you set up a tourney (the freeroll in question) so that only certain people can get in? not a password. Say I provided a list of players could you just have them invited and placed in that tourney automatically?
Can I set up a series of tourneys and have the first and second place prizes (in addition to the prizes from the buyins) be an entry into said freeroll?
If so can you automate it? Or can I supply you a list of those to be entered into said freeroll?(as asked in a previous question) or do I have to set it up as a regular freeroll and pass out passwords?
My hope is to set up a series of 10 games every Sunday for 10 weeks. The first and second (and maybe third...still talking with friends) place finishers will gain entry into a championship freeroll payed for by me. I'd like to avoid giving out passwords to avoid people who haven't legitimately won one of the satellites from gaining entry to the freeroll.
Thanks
David Williams

PS...I looked all over the Fulltilt website and couldn't find this information. Is it posted anywhere there? and if it isn't why? I would think it would be a good idea would save you folks in support from answering the same questions over and over

Great stuff there from Fulltitl A55A55IN,... pretty much answers the questions I had in my head this week. I'm contemplating starting a tourney on Tues. evenings and am hoping to do something similiar with a freeroll at the end of a period of time, cash supplied by myself (was thinking of using a VISA Gift Card for the winner, that way they could deposit to whatever account they chose,.. or none at all,.. .just a thought.)
Really appreciate the Railbirds going out of their way to make this site so much better.
Thanks All
Thank u so much for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!
