SilentBobAK47

Railbird name: SilentBobAK47
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Years Playing Poker: About 5 years online, but I have been playing the game since I was a kid.
Fav. game: NL Deuce to Seven Single Draw
Fav hand: J-T of spades
Fav Poker Site: For now, Poker Stars is my #1
PS ID: IceFox81
FTP ID: XTokerStar420X

#1 Why did you chose your Railbird.com screen name/ what does it mean?
- "Silent Bob" is my nickname and it accurately describes my personality. The AK47 part of it is a little bit of my creativeness, many think it's named after the gun of the same name, well, sort if, it means that I will fire whether I have AK or 47.

#2 How would you define your style of play?
- Tight and conservative mixed with some aggression. But, I think I play too tight and conservative because if I do survive to the late stages of a tournament, I will usually have a short stack. I play the math mixed with insticts.

#3 Poker Achievements?
- I won two Poker Stars freerolls, each with 10,000 entries, one in NL Hold 'em and the other in NL Omaha. I have won well over $2,000 in tournament winnings without depositing a single dollar.

#4 what brought you to join railbirds in the first place, and what keeps u here ?
- I saw an avatar on Poker Stars during a game, decided to check it out, I liked it so I signed up. What keeps me coming here are the blogs, the chat, and the private tournaments. The people here, most of them anyway, are great people and I enjoy playing and chatting with them.

#5 Which pro would you like to face in a HU match and why?
- If I had to pick one pro to play heads-up, I would probably pick Daniel Negreanu just because he is one of the most accomplished tournament players of all-time and I like the challenge of playing poker with the best in the world.

#6 How have you improved your game...was it by lots of practice, was it by books you have read and if so, which books, was it by playing live ??
- It's a mix of reading books and practice practice practice! The first book I got was one I got for Christmas one year, Phil Hellmuth's Texas Hold 'em, which I consider to be a good book for beginners. Then I practice my game online all the time and you can only get better through lots of practice.

#7 Who are 5 players you look up to on railbirds and why? or Who do you think based on what
you've seen or read, would you like to face heads up on railbirds?
- Like I said, I like the challenge of playing the best players. With that being said, 5 people here I would like to play heads-up, though there are more, are QuasiPro, A55A55in, champ1, thegame187, and I'd play heads-up Triple Draw Lowball with Baseball Tim.

#8 How do you play differently in tournaments vs. cash games?
- I play alot looser in cash games because if I lose I can just rebuy into the game where in tournaments you cannot rebuy, unless of course it is a rebuy tournament. So I will play alot of starting hands and mix it up in cash games and on the flip side I will play alot tighter and wait for good spots to play in tournament.

#9 What would you consider a weakness in your game/ something you need to improve?
- I do tilt, so I need to quit letting my emotions drive my actions and I need to stop thinking that people are always making moves on me whenever I steam. I think I also need to loosen up some when the blinds are high because one of my weaknesses is playing too tight when the blinds and antes get higher.

#10 What are some typical "TELLS" that a online poker player gives ?
- Well, since you cannot see the faces and hand movements of online players, you just have to closely observe what hands they play and how they bet them. If you can put them on a range of hands and how tight or loose they play them, you can adjust your game to that and play accordingly. If you have KQ against a tight player who has a narrow range, you fold, but if you have KQ against a maniac with a wide range, then you can play back at him.

#11 How Has Railbirds.com helped your game play?
- Railbirds has really helped my game, especially my Omaha and Stud game, mostly because of the (in)complete strategy guide. I think that is one of the best blogs ever to be written here as it is a collection of dozens of articles by the greatest minds here at Railbirds and novices can really improve their game just by reading those articles.

#12 Best Moment in a trny ?
- Best moment in a tournament? While I had alot of good moments, I think the best one would have to be when I qualified to play in the weekly $750,000 guaranteed event at Full Tilt Poker back in September of last year and I found myself sitting at the table with three former F.T.O.P.S. champions. I think I outlasted two of them but the greatest moment is when I knocked one of them out of the tournament. I don't remember how the hand went down, but just knocking out a F.T.O.P.S. champion in a big tournament boosted my confidence. However, I would finish short of the money in that tournament.

#13 Most recent trny win?: (non railbird trny)
- My most recent win is actually kind of a funny story. It was back on January 29th when someone informed me of a H.O.R.S.E. tournament at Poker Stars that was starting at 9:45 PM, at first, I said I didn't feel like playing. Just a few minutes before it was to start, I wasn't doing anything so I decided to register and play. Well, it was the best decision I made in a while because I went on to win that tournament pocketing $113.04. Had I have decided to not play, I wouldn't have won this tournament.

#14 Who introduced you to poker ?
When I was a kid, some of my friends and I would grab a jar of pennies and play draw poker. So I guess they introduced me to the game. Television introduced me to Texas Hold 'em and all the other popular forms of Stud poker that we play today.

#15 How does your strategy help in Freerolls provided by Railbirds.com?
- Well, you cannot mix it up and outplay freeroll players, especially early, because they will play strange hands and make all kinds of strange plays. So you really have to just wait for a good hand and play it aggressively knowing that they will pay it off most of the time. Then, you have to hope that they don't get lucky against you.

#16 If their wasn't Poker, what would you be doing?
- Honestly, I don't know. Poker is my #1 hobby, so, if there wasn't poker, I guess I'd just have to find a new #1 hobby, playing the guitar for a band maybe.

Good interview Bob.

Thanks for the props...although I don't think I'd want to play anyone just "heads up"...LOL....It's one of my weaker areas.

and since you mentioned it I figured I'd post a link to the (In)complete Strategy Guide
