I am pretty close to giving up on all this poker stuff, lol. Not really, but we (hubby and myself) have decided to quit playing at our regular weekend game. It is not fun anymore when it is so unclean and there is absolutely no table respect.
We buy in for 20 bucks, and get 200 chips. It is unlimited rebuys and cash out whenever you want.... pretty nice, right? Not really, when you have one guy who just calls anything preflop every time, and sees every single hand he has no matter how high the bet is preflop. Then you've got one guy (the token drunk) who calls every bet if he flops a backdoor, turn still gives him nothing, but he calls another HUGE bet anyway, and then he gets his one outer on the river. Then there are a couple of guys who raise preflop probably 75 percent of the game, with cards like J3 suited, and the like, ... I know, Im bitching and moaning, but it is ridiculous. Example - I have pocket Aces... I raise 30 TIMES THE BIG BLIND PREFLOP. He calls... with 4 6 offsuit. Guess what flops? 3 5 7... of course. It goes on like this for hours... I dont usually lose any money, but the game is rotten. The retarded chasing the one/two outers, the calling preflop raises with crap... I dont see this kind of play at the casino (not much, anyway). We've suggested to the host of the game that we play dollar for dollar (he is thinking about it, but Im not holding my breath)... so when we are betting 30 times the big blind it would actually be 60 bucks, not 6... call that with 4 6 offsuit.... gaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwd lol.
Ok that was my rant for the month....

Yep,... we are taking a break from it for a while. There really is no other place to play around here, his house is the central location, everyone we play with plays there, he isnt married and has no kids so its a nice place to go without any interruptions. Other than the game becoming so unclean and disrespectful, it really is the perfect place to play.
I think we've decided to just play once a month, make the two hour trip to the casino and stay overnight. Its a much better game there.
Maybe he will decide to play dollar for dollar, because another couple is considering not going back because of the play. One can hope.....
Bigrych - wasnt referring to the player being retarded, the play (chasing) is what I was calling retarded. Just to clarify.
I love the home game I play in and I love my friends but they host and they are frankly clueless. But it doesn't stop at cluelessness on how to play a hand, its simple things like having an actual pot, and a muck. it just gets so annoying. However its also like having a part time job so i deal with the drunken childish behavior for my usual take of 100 a week. sometimes twice a weekend if they feel like they can "get even" (I love prideful donks) anyway, there is my take.
