at least you lose a small amount. it would be really sick if it's your whole stack
LPdevil Feb 11, 2008 8:02 am

altruist Feb 11, 2008 8:17 am

SwannySA Feb 11, 2008 8:31 am
bad news. You would be thinking ... at least a split pot. Bad news, mate
Coolvettes Feb 11, 2008 8:31 am

Yes, seen it happen. About 3 times including your blog. Other 2 times was yes on Stars.

Just bad luck!

I have seen the same thing happen with aces down to 10's.
teflonjon001 Feb 11, 2008 4:21 pm
That sucks man. It's happened to me a few times before too. I don't know if you remember a forum post I made several months back about when it is right to fold pocket aces preflop, but one of the answers was if you KNOW your opponent also has aces. (By know I mean he doesn't conceal his cards properly and you see them). Obviously you had no way of knowing here, but it does serve as good illustration of my point. If you KNOW that he also has pocket aces, and you don't have much invested in the pot, fold, simply because you're only playing for half the pot, so you don't stand to gain much, and you're risking your entire stack unnecessarily on the rare chance that you get 4-flushed.

wow unreal. Was on ps last night and seen three times that people were holding the same pocket pair. I couldn't believe that. The hands seemed strange last night. tough beat for you there. gl to you

At least you lost to AA... live game this past weekend, I had AA... raised 30x the BB preflop... I get calls all around, the flop is 3 5 7 rainbow,... buddy goes all in (about half my stack- but he is pushy) and I call... he called my 30x BB preflop raise with 4 6 offsuit. Grr. Bad luck for ya though, .... musta sucked to see that last spade hit.

Rich-Lady Feb 11, 2008 5:02 pm
It wouldn't have mattered wheather you slow played or pushed all in preflop. The other guy with the AA was gonna stay with them. It just happened.
lonnielong Feb 11, 2008 5:15 pm

He was something like 3% percent to win the whole thing.........tough break man.
