When I first started playing poker it was on Party Poker. They have since stopped U.S. play. I cashed out last year having a balance of $38.01. When I got the check, I deposited it at the ATM. I got a letter from the bank saying that the check was not in the deposit envelope (it was!). So, rather than fight a fight I can't win, I just wrote off the money..... Well, a couple of weeks back, I got an email from Party Poker telling me that my account has been inactive and a "fee" of $5 would be deducted from my account. This is the 2nd such message. (I ignored the first.) So, I emailed them back and told them I had already cashed it out...... They reply that I have a balance of $28.01. (2 inactive fees x $5 deducted) So, they sent me another check.
I deposited it on Jan. 25th. Today, I got another letter from the bank..... This one states that they have debited the amount from my account due to a foreign check that must be submitted for collection and returned the original check to me (check has all the endorsements printed on backside). Now, is this normal? Does it mean that it bounced? Or just has to pass through more tape? And how long does it usually take for a foreign check to clear?
I tried calling the 800 number but they were closed.... Will try again but thought I'd check with you all in the meantime. I am getting ready to cash out a BIG CHUNK of my Full Tilt account and wonder if I should expect the same hassle of getting my money.....
Any input from your experiences is appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

I was told not to take it to a bank, they would hold it 10 days. I took it to Walmart, they will cash any check under 1500.00. They charge a very small fee, but cashed it without question.
R U serious Matrix ?
3-4 months??????????????????
epassporte is alright, get the card but recently they've discontinued the use of Mastercard as a means for depositing funds to your epassporte account. You now need a Visa or an American bank account. I know as it's been a huge pain in the ass for me. Also, epassporte is the WORST for getting ahold of,.. customer support there really bites (took me 30days to get a response to over a dozen messages, and was never once able to reach them via telephone,.. each time a HUGE waiting period on hold,.. I gave up,.. got a Visa card, lol).
If you've got a Visa Card, epassporte is very convenient but as with some of the other's, there are a few hidden charges once you've got your account going and these are subject to change at short notice (like an inactive account fee of $20, etc.).
GL on the Party Poker deal,... sounds like a huge drag!!
just responding to maverick, with epass ive cashout close to 2k no problem. funds available instantly
I actually did my first deposit just now with epassporte on Poker Stars. Although it took like 2 weeks for the money to transfer....so I guess we'll see how that goes.
The BR on Full Tilt is kinda high and I just want to get it out of there before I start doing stupid things like losing..... Been on their site quite awhile and have never tried to cash out there before.
I've only ever cashed out from Party Poker and that's not going quite well.
geez sounds like you guys have big hassle in cashing out. Don't know if the situation is different in the US, but from here in australia I requested funds to be withdrawn from tilt and they transfered it strait away to my visa card, it took 24 hours to clear, no problems.
Has any one transfered funds from bodog? I would like to know the best way to do that, especilly if you're from down under.
cheers Jonty
for americans, electronic transfers are the way to go to avoid hassles, although epass takes forever, I think its the best option to move $ around
boy, do I miss neteller!
I'm doing a withdrawal transaction presently. I'll report how it turns out.
For now, I just want to say Thanks Pink for posting this subject / question.
And Thanks to everyone who added their thoughts and experiences.
This is a very good example of what RAILBIRDS is all about.. WTG all.
Well, I called the 800# for the bank today. Noone seems to know what the issue is. Because the check was sent back to me, one person said it was invalid. Another person said because it was foreighn funds and there would be a $25 fee once it cleared (which would leave me $3.01, lol). But it is written out in U.S. funds, comeing from a London bank.....so that confuses them. But regardless, how am I suppose to know if they don't know? This letter even came with a ref# and noone wanted it..... Transferred, transferred and transferred again......The customer support ended up transferring me to my locan branch. They took some info and said they'd get in touch with me tomorrow. {Sigh}
