I was watching the EPT and 1 of the players made a comment I found quite interesting
" In online poker you are playing against volume players" These players have a substantial bankroll and are prepared to buy into numerous mtt's. They will take risk that they would not take in an event such as the WSOP or the EPT if you lose in the WSOP you get on a plane and fly back and wait till the next tourney which could be a month away. In online poker you can buy into literally hundreds of tourneys in 1 day if you bust out just go to lobby and push register and your on your way to another. If you look at the top online players you will note a big difference in there stats the big money online players will have a very low % of in the cash finishes sometimes under 10 % yet when they do make the cash there final table % is huge. What that translates to bottom line is these are highly aggressive players who will either bust out early or build monster stacks. When they get those stacks they are virtually unstoppable and mow there way through the field with well timed bluffs , blind stealing and the occasional good hand.
So for us that are just hoping to finish ITM in the majority of tournaments we play to get our buy in back and hope to have enough to play in another we are pretty much going about it the wrong way ( I THINK) maybe we should all deposit $10,000 on stars and just go crazy in $100 buy in mtt's. If you enter 10 and just start raising like hell right out the gate and pushing like crazy you will get a stack in at least 1 thats the 1 you focus on but don't stop till you are in the top 10 after the first break then settle down and shoot for the FT
Good Luck!!!!!!
