Survey about poket rockets....

What would you do!!!

1-2 No Limit

Table has been playing with more limping in with few raises preflop. Straights and Flushes a plenty.

I am dealt pocket aces. I raise $20 and all fold....... I win seven dollars.

Next,

I am dealt pocket aces. I cut back on my raise to $12.... I get four callers and my aces get cracked with a straight on the flop.

i want action but not so many that people draw out....where is the happy median.

There is only the hope that you will win the majority of AA hands, but only if you play them with pride...Never slow 'em down, accept the small pots, because the next may be a doozy. Better to win a little than to limp into a losing situation...Just what I have learned, the hard way too...

Try $16 next time, it's right in the middle, so you should get a little less action.

the more I think of pocket aces the more I think they are only good until the flop unless you make a set. I've been trying to teach myself how to fold them after the flop if there is big betting going on chances are my aces are beat at this point. I'm not very lucky with them. Better to make a little then bust out playing them.

A/A's are a win small and lose kind of hand most of the time

sometimes if it is a scary flop u just have to lay them down if u think u may be beat. 12, should be plenty in a 1/2 game. i play 1/3 no limit at the horseshoe in tunica, and 12 to 15 is pretty standard. i play 1/2 no limit in jacksonville and 12 is about standard there to. if your raising more 15 or more in those games you will most likely not get much action. thats usually a good raise with hands u really don't want to get called with.

bet ur aces preflop if raised represent and reraise....

After the flop any PP could have hit the set. better to have 7 in the stack than lose the hand. this should be easy decision one example you provide u win the other u lose. I choose to win and play that way.

just a rookie paying poker tuition

I hate pocket aces... if I get them, I dont want them to play so I raise a ridiculous amount to try and get everyone else to fold. Prime example, over the weekend at a casino, $1/$2 NLHE, I had AA several times over three days, I raised to $25 every time I had them, only got called once, opp had 55, flop gave him a gut shot, I bet $75... basically saying, FOLD DUDE! ... he calls and gets his straight... bottom line is, I would rather just get a few bucks in blinds and move onto the next hand than have the AA cracked and lose a chunk of money because of it.
