Well tonight I had my LIVE on going poker trny then the cash game afterwards. As far as my trny I only lasted about an hour in it. I was changing up my style & what I played alot to keep them wondering what the hell I might have all the time. I took some risk plays some paid off big and others not so well and took a bit of a hit, most of the players at start on the table I really haven't played before except for two out of nine including myself. One player to my right I didn't really care for much because of some actions last week tryin to get a peek at my hand when he was on my left.
After I got busted out of the trny I joined the cash game which was seven players including myself, after awhile one player re-bought back in after busting out. Rather sort of early on into it I was gaining chips and getting some nice cards, sometimes taking risk and hitting big hands. I was able to manage to control my losses, I was playing more-less just like in the trny changing how & what I played.
This was the third time I ever played live for cash, the other two times I took second and gained my buy-in back. But this night was not to be a third week taking second. From the time until it started until it ended for me it lasted about two hours in the cash game. After about three to five hands once it reached heads-up I hit my hand on the river for a wheel straight in which I called his all-in on the river winning the cash game for that table that night.
So it sort of seems I been doing better in the cash live games for some reason then the trny's, I can't really understand why nor really explain it but it does give me one hell of a boost that maybe I just might be onto something. I know there will come a time I don't win or be able to get my buy-in back which I will be fine with but I'm going to try and put that off as long as I can, I'm just going to enjoy the ride while it last then come back the next week for another double game of a trny & cash game!

Awesome job E-Rat!
Way to represent the MONSTERS
Thank you everyone.
In a way it seems like a dream that so far in the cash aspects doing that well, I know it won't continue. In some aspects I can understand the rants about players on-line then them saying it wouldn't happen in a LIVE &/ or cash game. But maybe it is just the ones I been playing with but alot of the complaints about on-line players I see in these live games but one huge differance the aftermath of it.
Nice work bro. The way your playing, i would skip the tourny and go straight for the cash tables. The one thing i don't get is why are you worried about changing up your style? I could understand if you play against the same bunch of people each week, but if you haven't played them before, they wouldn't know your style. So i would just concentate on my game and not my style. But hey, your winning so keep doing what you've been doing!!!
MONSTERS ROCK
Thanks budd, but as far as the skipping the trny and going to the cash game wouldn't help. Reason being is I would be standing around waiting for it to start anyways because it doesn't start until there is at least 4-5 people busted out of the trny.
For the most part reason I been changing up is to get them set-up early for later weeks, I did more-less the same thing the other trny I was in and I think it helped me get into the regionals. Most of these players I haven't played before except for three of them from the prior trny we were in. For the most part I have played with this group three times now in both trny & cash games. All of these players are very decent people and some are great players that I am learning from as well in both trny's I been part of. I know I have thier respect as a person and as a player trying to learn.
For some reason with what you mentioned about ' for me to concentrate on my game and not my style ' I think they might be one in the same. I'm reflecting back in ALL the games I been part of on-line and live since I really started to try and play better. I know I'll play strong hands like I got garbage and vice-versa then I'll play strong hands like I got a strong hand. My ' style/ game ' isn't really set in stone at most I see it as I'm barely scratching the surface of the stone. I think it is sorta along the lines of how other poker pro's veiw Gus Hanson playing, I am by no means saying I might be another of him but it seems like it is sort of working for me.
I guess it is still hard for me to explain I only really been trying to play better for about a year out of two years playing NL hold'em. No matter how I do on-line or live I still view myself as a n00b( I'm gonna get yelled at for me saying that, lol ) I still have SO MUCH to still learn. It is not by any means for me to learn nor do things I have learned at the tables I play on-line, which by the way are play/ fake chips. Yeah I could try the higher limits but I have watched some but it seemed like they were the same as the lowest levels, not saying they are all like that but the ones I watched were. Which is why I won't ever give poker advice I only give my opinions/ thoughts, I'm not qualified to give poker advice.
This ended up being longer then I expected but maybe that might explain a little to you budd.
