Today I read a disturbing blog on another poker forum I am a member of. The charge was that RailBirds are passing their freeroll passwords around. Clearly this is a chidish, baseless, inflammatory charge and I responded thusly :
First let me say that I can report it is 100% true that CC passwords are NOT posted in RailBirds forum. Members are not allowed to post any other forums information period and should it appear a moderator would remove it. I have posted innocuous info regarding other forums and the forum was removed. T
here is no diplomatic way to say this except to say that it is a lie that RailBirds post CC passwords in RB forums.
There are MANY Railbirds who are CC members as well as members of other forums of which there are many.
It is troubling and puzzling that a post like this should appear with no evidence except "Railbirds are in CC games". I'd pose this question to the moderators here "is there a problem with having members in CC who are RB members too"? There are CC players in RB games too. The ones I know for certain are valid members in both forums.
It is unwarranted comment as to their presence as a group, that it would be anything other than positive. I have NEVER been in a CC game where I witnessed anything other that exemplary conduct from RailBird players. I have never seen a blog on RailBIrds making deleterious comments about other forums. In fact I've seen more such comments between RB's than to members of other forums. I have been in CC games where CC members initiated all kinds of negative remarks about RailBirds for no reason other than they are RailBirds members. This is both childish and unseemly. I'd suggest that if anyone has a problem with a Railbird address that RailBird - a problem with one only translates to all in the mind of the accuser.
On the issue of "they can't play". This is the most simpleminded remark of allWilliam Thorson (Lolipop) just made the final table in the EPT, two members are in the WSOP this year, Tom McEvoy is a member just to mention a few. There are many, many good players, players across the entire spectrum in that forum just like them all, including CardsChat. It is ludicrous to suggest that all members of any forum are all any one thing or another.
I am a member of CardsChat and 6 other forums including RailBirds. I have NEVER seen such a remark against another forum in any one of them - not once. Lets all act like adults and not trash an entire forum because of "issues" real or perceived with individuals in that forum. In my view the view that Railbirds are all crashing CC games without membership is patently nonsense. What possible motivation would there be? CC membership is free and like I said RB has many more games daily than most other forums including CC.
I can say unequivocally that I have seen no negative remarks about CC in the RailBirds forum although I am aware of some CC members making remarks about them and RailBirds. IN fact one made such remarks to me. Not for a second dis I think that CC is a problem because of one simpletons remarks. The problem is with him not CardsChat.
RailBirds has significantly more games than CC. RailBirds have the problem of interlopers getting passwords and playing the games. Not to mention that to be the top player in that forum gets you a WSOP seat - more reason to have issue with interlopers than their mere presence in my book! There has NEVER been a post accusing CC of stealing passwords. I was aware that a friend I have in CC was been told a password I asked her to join RB, which she did and reported the source. Catastrophe averted. There is a proper way and an improper way to try to "stop them" (not non-member Railbirds alone) from participating in CC games. RailBirds who are CC members have as much as much right as any other CC member to participate.
This type of blog, essentially creating "issue" of valid member's participating in members games is inflammatory, childish and unnecessary.
Although any group, of more than two people not to mention thousands, has disruptive members generally RailBird members are good citizens, just like CardsChat members.
Let's not create enemies where there are none....

ps. I don't agree that RB blog are all "cutesy" they run the gamut - take a look at mine, NO there arer no blogs (I searched) trashing CC or any other blog Ithat I know of. I know most of the RB members who are CC, those I know did not join CC "for the passwords". I was invited here by a CC member because they thought this was a good site with friendly players...... Thats why I joined.
EACH PERSON I HAVE FOUND EVIDENCE OF PASSWORD SHARING ARE MEMBERS WHO HAVE BEEN BANNED FROM A FORUM! (I know there are others but these are ones I have evidence of) Probably the easiest way to be banned from RailBirds is to pass passwords. I've seen passwords passed on Rounders Radio Chat and the moderator admonishes the passer immediately. You can be banned from there for that also.

Take it for what its worth. I was a member of CC for a while. The had nothing good to say about Railbirds.
So it is not surprising that this kind of attempted defamation of Railbirds has surfaced.
I left CC because of other more generalized statement by moderators who didn't like people because of their geographical location.
Again, remember the source and keep on keeping on.

Well said!
Apparently Im being accused since a dude took a screen shot of when I was sitting out, for the one hand I got up to go to the bathroom.
Even if I had shown up 30 minutes late or somthing, I could understand...but seriously, the one hand I sat out makes me a scammer or something?
I had not gone to the site for several months as it just didnt have as good an atmosphere as railbirds(and I eventually took a long break from rb's as well--just too much going on with real life). I dont post extremely often here, but I try to anytime I get the chance. I log on everyday, even if I dont play in the freeroll. If I was asked by someone if I was a member of a pokersite(although im not sure why someone would lol)--I'd say RB's. I guess that makes me a bad person? lol
Hey Merlin! Don't you have anything better to do than to stir things up between the forums? Why don't you give the people here the link to the specific discussion at Cardschat so that people can see that you are WAY OFF BASE!?? Here, let me:
http://www.cardschat.com/f6/stopping-railbird-infestation-102973/
Yes, the title of that thread may be accidently offensive, but the discussion is about changing the CC password policy due to the fact that people HAVE witnessed PW sharing in Railbirds posts & blogs prior to deletion and in Railbirds chat and PM's. The overall subject DOES NOT put down ALL Railbirds! Just the PW sharers.
I know for a fact that it is also a problem on other forums. It is not a unique to just one forum. It's just that Railbirds players are more noticable because of their avatars (that should be a good thing). So please stop perpetuating the hate, Merlin!
I did not post the link because it abridges blog rules. But since you did I'm happy to allow RB's to see the "discussion" please note that no Railbirds are bashing CC members. Nor did I.
What you are saying does not change the premise of the argument titled "stop the Railbird infestation" - that we post CC passwords. I have never seen anything but trouble come to any RB who posts any sites passwords. Are you saying that is not true?
I can take the heat for something I do but I for one am simply sick of hearing false accusations.

WTG and thanks for sharing this with us.

Come on, folks! I just read that whole thread and there is NO bashing of Railbirds in general and NO mention of Merlin or Sherry being a password sharer. So how can it be nasty? Just chill out and stop taking this so personally!
Also, the reason the mods are participating in that thread is because they are the ones who WITNESSED the PW sharing in the past. Just because YOU personally don't see it happen doesn't mean it doesn't happen. It happens in most any forum.
And Sherry, the only nasty part about that thread is you changing your CC avatar to keep things stirred up. Give it a rest.
I read the thread and like most members am a member of CC also. I joined the site a few weeks ago. We all know what the mods here think about password sharing:
http://www.railbirds.com/blog/136893/prorails-reminders.html
I've been a member here for many months and have never seen a blog posting another forums password. I've seen blogs asking for the passwords but they never last long.
If I wrote a blog saying "stop the infestation <of anything> I would not be so ignorant or dishonest as to suggest "oh I didn't mean anything by the word infestation" - words mean something.
I say don't use inflammatory unless you are seeking to inflame the reader. Infestation suggests being overrun by some unwanted, uninvited, disgusting, nasty, disease or vermin - that is how it is nasty. Hardly how any reasonable person would have themselves described. Then to imply that someone responding normally to such a characterization is simply beyond belief. If their moderators "witnessed" PW sharing then they should act responsibly, get proof and share it with the proper parties - thats what I did when I found proof. There would be no point then or now to bash the sites members - they after all didn't post passwords.
By saying "stop the infestation of RailBirds" does indeed , since I'm a RailBird, refer to me. If I were not I would still suggest that the blog was improper and inflammatory. If you have read any of my comments you will find that it is not unusual for me to post in defense things other than myself.
I think I'm a good and contributing member to every site I participate in. I was nasty to no one.

further, take a look at this:
pastor Niemöller Germany, January 6, 1946
If you've never seen it, does that mean it doesn't exist? LMAO! Keep asking for proof, Merlin, when you know darned well that the violations have either been deleted or vanished into message space.
I pity you, Merlin. Your life will be pretty miserable until you cease taking things so personally. You rant and rave about things that don't apply to you. Are you a PW sharer? No? Well then none of this applies to you.
The only people who should be offended are the password sharers and they exist everywhere, not just here. If you folks don't realize that, you are only kidding yourselves.
Happy trails.
That blog was also talking about invading our freerolls and talking up that site. I have nothing against that site except that when you post to a forum they flood your e-mail box with notifications every time somebody post to a forum that you have posted in. I tried to get them to explain to me how to keep from being subscribed to that forum post and nobody ever did.
I wanted to mention to them that while they were at it to invade our real money tournaments because from their post I gathered that they were against getting into real money tournaments.
