MSN TROJAN WARNING !!!!

Jan 24, 2008 1:51 am Report Abuse

Msn Trojan Warning!!

A vicious trojan, covered as a private message, is now spreading online for internet users.

"Hey, is this a picture of you? I found it on Facebook", is the most common message that is spread to thousands of people using the chatting program Windows Messenger(or MSN)

It contains a link which is optional to press, and this link is supposedly gonna show of this picture. Nosy receivers click the link and they can then start regretting.

What happens when you press the link, is that your computer downloads a so called 'Downloader', a small program clip that again downloads a more vicious code. We are talking about a "bot-code", who in short terms means that the infected computer connects to a network who can be controlled by others, say Head Director Christophe Birkeland in NorCERT, a sub-department of National Security Authority who works secifically with IT-threats.

Briefly spoken. If you are not carefull, you are risking that stranger are in control of your computer. If you click the link it will spread out to all your contacts on your contact list.

According to Birkeland, they discovered thee trojan around 9 o'clock last night, NorCERT has analyzed it, and the results were frightening: Under half of the 30 anti virus programs that was tested could not spot the trojan.

The trojan is not made in Norway.

It has what we call a spreadvector, which adapts to the language your operatve system is in.

NB. The trojan only affects Windows users, persons connected to MSN via other operative systems, such as OSX or LINUX, has nothing to fear.

This virus has been around a lonng time now. I was sent it by an ex railbird and my idiot mate thought it would be funny to look. Thankfully I got rid, but one person on my list wasn't and had to replace their hard drive, so be aware!!!!

I had this little bastard last May. It takes over everything on your computer and the more you try to fight it, the more intense he gets. Here's a freindly reminder:

IF YOU HAVE NOT BACKED UP YOUR SYSTEM AND FILES LATELY....

DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Technicians were not able to salvage anything on my computer and a complete wipe was needed. I lost everything. It was bad.

I am the person on Bomshels list that she was referring too. It did get me and wiped me out. It kills your entire computer. I know first hand.

Do click the link, it sent it out immediately when I opened the link from Bomshel to everyone on my list that was online. I didnt send it to anyone showing offline. I clicked the link only because I certainly do trust Bomshel.

It is a nasty virus and my virus protection didn't catch it
