a very HUGE thank you

Jan 16, 2008 11:42 am Report Abuse

Well I sorta been putting off doing this blog until I got through my very first time playing in a LIVE poker trny to see how it went. I wish I could of done better then I did, but no matter I still am compelled to doing this. There are more reasons behind me doing this then just what it seems to be.

I would like to say a VERY huge thank you to A55A55IN, Seldric, & my clan the MONSTERS/ freinds for everything I learned from you on how to really play poker no matter if it was on-line or live & the support for when I was going through a bad run of cards both on-line & live.

I first started trying to do this live event for myself to see what it was really like to play live but early on into it my out look on it changed dramatically. Not in the aspects of how it is like to play live but my reasons for playing to see what would come about of this. An I can honestly say without A55A55IN's strategy blogs, Seldric's tips/advice he has giving me, & my clan & some freinds backing me when I needed the kick in the arse. I would NOT have gotten as far in it as I would of and qualified for regionals. I didn't make it to the next level in the regionals but that is not that important there are more to come on this because I am honestly hooked on live play. Which I will be doing again Jan. 17th, it started three weeks ago but no matter I can still enter them and this one is for a shot at WSOP.

I know it may not seem like much but there is more to it, it was MY very first time playing live poker. I never have played a cash game on-line or live in my life and still have yet to do. I been playing on-line poker for about two(2) years and only for fake/ play money. For anyone that knows it is almost impossible to really learn or play correctly at those tables. I'm not diss'ing all those players but there are very few & far apart you come across some decent poker players on those types of tables on any level of fake/ play money. I have watched higher levels, and the ones I seen were just as bad as lower ones. So with me doing this live event(s) with the info & knowledge I have gained from the ones I mentioned I would not of done it nor made it as far as I did.

So now any time I am doing these live events I am not doing it so much for myself anymore, I am doing it out of respect & thanks for the ones during the course of my first one. I am also doing it now to show that even if you are a fake/ play money player you can improve and make an impact in cash & live games. I'll admit it is frickin hard as hell to do but it can be done. Don't expect me to have strategy blogs because I know there are others that can do it much better then me. I'll do blogs on ' my opinions ', on how/ what I'll play, & such. I know I might catch heck on this next thing I say but I know I am still a n00b at poker which just keeps me wanting to learn more all the time & pushes me harder to do better.

These people have been amazing to learn from even if they didn't know I was. Even me saying thank you to them feels like not enough but at this time that is all I really can do.

So once again THANK YOU ever so much A55A55IN, Seldric, & my clan MONSTERS/ freinds for teaching this n00b & kickin him in the arse when needed. Just this time when I need a kickin' can you please not wear the boots/ shoes with points on them? They are just a bit painful and make it hard to sit down to play poker. lol

you had some great teachers... they are good players (even if A55A55IN DOES try to put me on tilt with his table talk!)
