My opinion

Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one. Well here is mine. I know I will piss some people off and maybe hurt some feelings which is not my intention to do so but it seems sensitivity levels are really high right now. Oh and in advance if I get in trouble for this blog then so be it. I will take my punishment like an adult and move on. Thats life.

There is a lot of disagreements going on right now with so many different things it makes my head spin. To start with there is the new railbirds tournaments schedule. There are less freerolls and more buy ins than there were last year. This is upsetting some people, making others happy and then there are others who don't really care either way. In my opinion I think it is a great new change. There are still freerolls for those with either no bankroll or a very little one. There are various levels of buy in tourneys. This is works for those who have small to modest and even large bankrolls. There are all different types of poker games that are listed so it works well for those who's favorite game may be something other than hold em, and those who do not know how to play other types of games can get a chance to learn for either free or a fairly small by in. One thing we all need to remember is that the guaranteed prize pool in these games comes out of the pockets of someone and it is not you or I so be thankful to the one that does pay it.

No matter weather its free to get in or not there will always be those trying to learn to play, bad players, some taking a long shot, decent players, good players and some excellent ones. If in these games, and I mean any of them at any level, you get your ass handed to you it does not mean that whoever beat you is a horrid player or that the computerized sight is out to destroy you and your good hand or your ability to play. It means someone either had a better hand than you or they got lucky. Ask the pros it happens all the time. If our best hands always held up we would all be rolling in the dough.

There are tons of blogs being posted everyday. They can range anywhere from thank yous to complaining about various things. I have posted blogs about my personal life, get well ones, jokes, rail so n so, in support of friends, goofy thoughts I have, thank yous and yes even a bad beat one. However I have never posted one giving advice on how to play for the simple reason that I feel I am not a good enough player to give advice. I am still learning and when I do feel that I know enough about a certain game or style of play I might just write an advice blog about it. I do say kudos to those that do write their blogs giving advice and tips. It helps someone along the way and that is a good thing. The people who do write these blogs by no means think that they are the greatest poker player ever, that their way of doing it is the only way or that they are poker gods. They are telling you what works for them so that you may try it for yourself and if it doesn't work for you then move on to something that does. These types of blogs are not put out there for anyone to badger and belittle these people. Making fun of them and calling them names or chasing them around to different poker sites and talking crap to them during a game only makes you look dumb and immature not them.

Blogs that are locked or edited, warnings handed out and various stages of banning means either you screwed up or the comments left by you or others was getting out of hand. It does not mean that I, someone else, the prorails or the world is out to get you. If you truly feel feel that someone is out to get you then you have stalker issues and that needs to be delt with somewhere besides here. I don't have any issues like that so whatever I will move on. The prorails can not catch every single blog, picture or comment that is made in the course of a day. Lets say that on any given day two out of the seven prorails have a regular 40 hours a week job that they must go to to support their family, two of the prorails are on the other side of the world and are OMG sleeping in the middle of the night, one prorail is spending time with their family, one prorail is sick as a dog and the seventh prorail is with a family member who is having surgery. This means none of them are on site because, go figure they have lives outside of railbirds. Now while none of them are on site a blog is posted that breaks some of the rules but no one catches it and no one complains about it, it happens, so the blog goes by without anyone getting in trouble. Two days later you post a blog that is not exactly the same but similar and bam it dose get caught and you get a warning or it gets locked or edited. This happens my friends. There are over forty thousand members on this site, thousands of blogs being posted a day and if yours or even mine breaks the rules or gets out of hand than whatever punishment the prorail hands down should be considered fair. It is their job to do this and to protect this site as best they can and I think they do a damn fine job of it. Big thumbs up to you prorails from me.

I love this place. It is where I come to read jokes, give and get support, talk to friends and learn a thing or two. Since coming here I have met wonderful people and some that are not so great, met my best friend, improved my poker game, smiled more than I have in years and finally someone on here has saved my life by being my best friend and caring and loving me no matter what, so thinking of them made me put down the bottle of pills and raise my chin up. They, my other friends and this site make me happy. With all of the shit going on in my life, and trust me there is a lot, this is the one constant that I can rely on to find some peace. Change happens people please try and grow with it, if you can't then move on and let those that do want to enjoy it. Love you railbirds and good luck to you all always.
