? on ranking algorithm

Jan 4, 2008 7:11 pm Report Abuse

O.K. I always felt math was one of my strong points......but I need a little help with this one
(remember I'm 50,,,I don't think some of this was discovered yet when I was in school)

This is how the rankings algorithm works:

p = place n = # of entrants

(.97)^p-1 * n

now what does the ^ mean.....and what does the * mean.......???

Thanks and good luck all.......

Hey westy, the ^ is to show exponents, and the * simply means multiply.

Peace, The NightTrain

Ask at any freeroll table. There are plenty of 5th graders there ...
