Railbird Clan League
With these random clan challenging each other and the monthly BOTC. I had an idea to take away from the down time of the quickly fading football season. Have a Clan season, every two weeks every clan plays another clan and keep a running standings. Then Have a seeded playoff with the tops of the divisions battle it out for bragging rights with a championship.
Here are the Divisions. There are two conferences and two divisions per conference. This is a ten week season.

There are eight playoff seeds, each division winner, and two wild cards from each conference. Seeds one thru four from each conference play for conference championship , and then each conference champion plays for league championship.

All clan leaders are looked at as Owners, and any situations will go to them for voting. Example below^
Was going to do money earned, but decided to change it to points. Final table gets points...

2nd-75
3rd-50
4th-40
5h-30
6th-25
7th-20
8th-15
9th-10
Add up point totals for each clan, most points gets the W
Matches are every two weeks, $1+.50 on full tilt. 8 team playoff seeded by W-L record. 1st tie breaker is head to head record, 2nd tie breaker is Division record, 3rd Tie breaker is Conference record, and 4th and final tie breaker is Total Points scored.
For easy maintenance of Wins and Losses and points, have a member make a screen shot of the final table, and final tourney lobby. And post a blog, simply send me link to the blog.
*IMPORTANT*
For above to work, clans must pick a costume before season. And members of that clan must be in costume. I know the Dogs, Lizzards, Donkeys have them.
^Collusion at all = Automatic loss for your team. If you suspect collusion, the person pm's me Hand history, and I will pm it to all clan leaders to vote if it was in fact collusion.
If your clan is not listed it is for a few possible reasons.
A) Your clan leader declined
B) Your clan is too new and I do not want your clan to "Frog" out
C) Your clan leader never replied to my pm's
THE TOURNEYS SHOULD BE OPEN FOR REGISTRATION THIS WEEK. THE FIRST WEEK OF THE SEASON IS APRIL 5TH. I WILL PM ALL CLAN LEADERS THE PW FOR THERE RESPECTED MATCHES EARLIER NEXT WEEK.

Really a great idea, amazing it has taken so long to for someone to actually talk about this.
But there is some minor issues. For us (I Eats) as you might know we have our own in house series over the year so to have clan battle every week would be way to much for us to handle. So say like every 2/3 weeks we could do that for sure. Another issue is what do we do about all these clans that pop up over night and disapear as quick as they start.
Do we put on cap on what clans can join in the clan ranking battles or can any new clan join at anytime?
The other issue is who will look after all these standings, schedule and all the other matters that will araise?
Other then that I don't see why this can't work and I think people will really enjoy it, if someone makes it happen.
I have also thought about this before the Holidays, but a few things prevented me from saying anything. The main one being is that there are so many private tournaments lately that it's hard to find a time when there isn't a conflict with regularly scheduled games. I think if it's done it would have to be something that was planned well in advance so that everyone could prepare for them (some don't have big bankrolls).
As far as some clans being bigger and some not, I think with proper preperation everyone could have a great turnout. There's no way to say that only x players can play because every clan member has the right to play and favortisum between top players and other players shouldn't be done.

As for new and disappearing clans, maybe a rule that the clan has to heave been around for x amount of time or something like that?
I'd be willing to help you out some with keeping track of everything, just couldn't do it full time with 4 kids. And I'm sure there are others who will help.
