Rankings problems and updates

Dec 30, 2007 5:55 pm Report Abuse

Hey all,

I'm almost back from holidays now. Will be back in business as usual starting tomorrow night.

We'll be updating the rankings - and looking at the (minor) problems associated with it ASAP, by which I'm hoping in a few hours but it might take another day or possibly two if we're unlucky.

The problem is that we aren't able to get the lists ourselves. If we were, the rankings would have been updated completely. Instead, we have to wait for staff from Stars and Tilt to get back from their holiday vacations... Needless to say, we're as frustrated as you are having to wait. Actually, we're probably more frustrated, as we have been relying a lot on this and wanted to see it running as smoothly as possible.

In retrospect, it was really stupid of us to have the last tournaments during the holidays, for the reasons that it gets harder to update the rankings and eliminate errors. We are really sorry for this, but we ask you to bear with us. Everything will be sorted out - very soon.

Update: I would also like to point out that our prorails don't have insight into the actual rankings and that I really think they haven't done anything wrong. I'd be grateful if everybody showed them the respect they deserve for their patience and willingness to help.

Best wishes,
Joe

Thank you so much for all you do Joe. The prorails have been doing the best they can with the info they had. I would not want to be in their shoes during all this. lol.

It sure would have been more exciting if we could have had the updates to follow the close runners. I am not sure where I stand. lol. I will keep better track of it in the future. I hope all had a nice vacation.

joe i remember the frantic pm's i sent in march and april regarding ranking points and blah blah blah, and i want to commend you and your prorails for doing your best, continuously answering moronic questions over and over and basically not telling people to stfu and play poker. I prob would have. my 10 months here has been probably the best online experience i've ever had, except for the midget tranny i met on craigslist, but i digress .thank you guys for the hard work.

Joe, from my point of view, the site (and you guys) don't even have to do this, but you do. That's a bonus for us and we're grateful. Everyone has problems and we have no right to expect you all are Super Heroes about the delays and/or snafus. Please don't stress about it, we understand; and those of us who don't, need to realize they don't have a RIGHT to be ranked for anything. it's a gift from the site and one shouldn't DEMAND things be run 'their' way. 99% of us, are fine with it, don't worry about the few complainers, you're doing what you can about it. That ought to be enough for all of us.

It is no problem. We all know that you will get it done. Wish we could afford to pay you a bigger salary for all of your work.

ProRails Rock to.
