In case you missed Part 1, http://www.railbirds.com/blog/write/132812/29109/
Now, having been in mourning for several days, there came the time to take my son back to his mom's after having spent the holiday with his family here...He's so lucky, two families, two Christmas'...But that's another blog...
We try our best, my wife and myself, to spoil our kids with the latest and greatest of life in this world of technology, while continueing to remind them the reason for the season. So Santa, if you will, gave all three of them the latest generation of the iPod nano. This thing does it all man... music, video, movies, games, photos, plus all the bells and whistles. Itunes even has a Texas holdem' game for them, but it's really not that good, imo...
Needless to say, after spending time getting thier newest gadgets set up and running, my heart only became heavier with the reality that my iPod was gone, never to return. I had spent time trying to get it to re-format and rise from the dead, but to no avail...It was gone...
So I make the seven hour round trip to take my son to his mom, taking solace in the fact that he, as well as our other two, had the greatest and latest, and we have always tried to instill our love of music in them. So maybe next year, I figure, I can replace my little shuffle with something new.
Upon returning home, yes, lo and behold, Santa had made a return trip to my home! There, sitting on my pillow, lies a package from the north pole, and yes, you guessed it...a new iPod!! Not the little shuffle though, but the newest nano, just like the "rest" of the kids got (see photo)!
I was immediately stoked, the mourning was over, and the game was on (no, not the Pat's and Giants). Spent the next few hours loading it up and playing with it, while I played in the real money ranking. Probably explains my poor finish, but that is yet another blog...
This story of tragedy and triumph does not end here. Stay tuned for the rest of the story...
