OntheFlops

Railbird name: OntheFlops
Age: shhh.. 32
Gender: Female
Location: near Charlotte, North Carolina
Years Playing Poker: 1 1/2 online, but since I was a kid with real cards
Fav. game: 5 card draw and No-limit Holdem
Fav hand: Pocket Js and A7 spade suited
Fav Poker Site: FullTiltbr
PS ID: ontheflops
FTP ID:…

#1 Why did you chose your Railbird.com screen name/ what does it mean?

It was the name I had atPoker Starsand it just seemed to fit here. I chose it over all because most of my wins have been on the flop. Now the name has stuck and everyone calls me Flops.

#2 How would you define your style of play?

Semi aggressive mostly, but I guess it depends on the day.

#3 Poker Achievements?

None of great importance… yet.

#4 What brought you to join railbirds in the first place, and what keeps u here ?

I was referred here by a good friend and I stay because of the community. I have meet some wonderful people here and some of my closest poker friends are also here. I stay because of the plethora of information I can read through on poker to.

#5 Which pro would you like to face in a HU match and why?

I would say Esfandiari, but I wouldn’t be thinking about poker ..LMAO No really, heads up… I think Gus Hanson only because I would like to see his mood swings in action. He can play in so many different personalities that it would be fun to watch him work.

#6 How have you improved your game...was it by lots of practice, was it by books you have read and if so, which books, was it by playing live ??

Really my playing still needs work. Real card games at home I’m great at because the people are real you can see them and learn their habits and signs that give them away. But on-line you have no idea who is sitting there. You have an Avatar that has no emotion, no tell tale signs that let you know what they could be holding. You have to read deeper into the way they beat, check or fold. So I keep practicing!

#7 Who are 5 players you look up to on railbirds and why?

There are many I look up to. To chose five would be to hard.

#8 How do you play differently in tournaments vs. cash games?

I don’t play many cash games right now. I stick to tourneys and the dreaded fake chips. Between these two: I tend to be really aggressive on a table with fake chips compared with tourneys.

#9 What would you consider a weakness in your game/ something you need to improve?

I guess my biggest thing would be my betting. I tend not to bet enough. In the beginning of a tourney I don’t know why, but if I have a hand and am confident it’s the winner, I still don’t bet much

#10 What are some typical "TELLS" that a online Poker player is bluffing ?

Well I have sat at many table, and the way I can see is the bet pattern they use mostly. If you pay close attention they will sometimes give themselves away by sitting to long on the cards and over betting.

#11 How Has Railbirds.com helped your game play?

It has given me tips on when to fold and how to play tighter. I still have a lot to learn so this list will get greater over time, I’m sure.

#12 Best Moment in a trny ?

I placed 17th in a non ranking railbird tourney a few months ago on FTP. I won 96cents and thought I hit the lottery …LMAO

#13 Most recent trny win?: (non railbird trny)

2nd place in a sit and go onFTPbr /> #14 Who introduced you to poker ? I guess I’d have to say my mom, she was the one who shoved cards in my hands as a kid and said “here go find someone to play cards with”
...LOL and I have ever since.

#15 How does your strategy help in Freerolls provided by Railbirds.com?

I don’t know, I just play ..lol

#16 How do you like the new site ?

Hum, well let’s just say the first day I wasn’t happy. I hate change!!! I had a hard time with the fonts and the new “last 10 things you’ve done” irritated me. But since then I have adapted to it, and now it’s grown on me … lol

Nice interview Flops. Especially enjoyed the use of the word "plethora". Never have found a way to use that word in relation to poker. Well maybe, "plethora of loses" might be descriptive of my poker life, but I dont go there!

Anyway good luck at the tables and Happy New Year!
