That is just as bad as pk aces getting an all in call with pk 3s and s/he making a straight by the river.

Plays like these goes right back to that question: why do people love to go all in preflop? And how some people thinks it is a lame way to play.

Well....because there are people who will play ATC if you allow them by 1) cheap bets or 2) no all in.....and boy o boy, once they see the flop and if they hit ANYTHING AT ALL, they will call and/or go all in to the river.

So depending on the table and the players, I say go all in every time you have a big pk pair, that might decrease on the ATC players being in the hand. And so what if you only win a small pot, it is much better than busting out or losing a huge one to lucky but crappy cards.

I would be so happy to lose like that. You should be proud of yourself. See, you can't win every tournament. In fact you will get knocked out at some point of the tourney about 99 percent of the time if not more. So...what is so wrong with having the best hand when the money went in. I

I always get sucked out on the turn or river when I lose. I would venture to guess that I have the best hand when the money goes in about 95 percent of the time. I know I cant win them all, so I am more than content in the knowledge that I played well. If you play well and dont adjust your strategy, the cards will come and you will eventually win.

Hope this helps!

and PS dont call people donkeys because you dont agree with thier play. This just shows bad poker ettiquette. instead try and grin and bear it. say GG and close the screen. No need to rant and rave after the hand and definately no need to post a blog about someones bad play. A better suggestion would be to PM that member and see if you can offer advice since this is a learning site. Not everyone is a pro. Keep that in mind!

GL on the tables....

pocket aces would be the 'best' hand if there were only two cards involved in the game you were playing...however this game takes five to win a hand...after that flop you might have been in the lead but it was slim at best...putting all your money in with the possibility of a straight draw and maybe even trips in the other player's hand is placing a lot of faith in a high pair...but since you think it's BS you probably didn't learn a single thing...

Icallu Nov 21, 2007 4:25 am

Actually, my beat with pk aces vs. pk 3s, all in preflop was worse than yours. Here's why if you stop and think about it, the hand and not just your pk aces....applied odds come into play with that flop for the 5 6....no possible flush and s/he had an open-ended straight draw.

I went all in preflop with my aces because this same player was calling with nothing for the last 4 hands and got lucky, again, your game has to be adjusted according to the table, the players and the tone of the play at that time.

There is a reason they call 56 the nut cracker
Dalton61 Nov 21, 2007 4:35 am

with all due respect, if you "HATE" freerolls, then don't play them...

i took 2 bad beats t'nite & they put me out... BUT, i'm not bitching.. it's FREE ...

it's your decision & only you can make it..

good luck..

Jackofspades.108 Nov 21, 2007 8:30 pm
You know what AA is? A pair. A good pair, granted, but that's all it is. If I had 56 suited and the bet wasn't too big I'd be involved, whether I'd call your all in on an up and downer is a different matter, and would depend on many things.

Aces cracked won't get sympathy from me, because they're just a pair.
