Proof pokerstars goes in cycles

Nov 7, 2007 4:10 pm Report Abuse

If you go way back and read some blogs I have written concerning pokerstars and how it favors aggressive players and also how internet poker runs in cycles this is the proof I need I have clearly stated in my blogs if you go into a tourney highly aggressive you catch more hands well my friends this is the ultimate proof! I won 16 out of 21 hands and in each hand I was way beat preflop I was playing rags as if they were AA an here are the results

Warning this is not a short blog but for those of you that are serious about your game it is worth a read

16 out of 21

All In on a gut shot second hand

I have done this b4 and I've tried to explain that in internet poker (pokerstars especially) you go through series of cards any 2 cards and you are unbeatable and other times you can have AA every hand and lose every one of them I also know that it worls best when you are highly aggressive I hope you all can understand this and use it to your advantage

interesting, no...very interesting post fellow!!!

i have recognised analoggys:

if you reraise someone it seems like that you force the software to "gift" you the next card on the board...i dont know if that happens only to people which lose at cashgames (as i ) , so it would be very interesting if there are other birdies with analoggy stories...

anyway, again lotsilora: very nice and interesting post from you!

My question is how do you know your in one of these cycles. also i must admit that does seem a little more then just dumb luck
weedjunior Nov 7, 2007 4:34 pm
Didn't someone once write that "aggressive poker is winning poker". Maybe since you changed your style you are winning more often. Then again to see if this is true you can go back to limping and calling and folding to test that theory. Still it's nice to see you try to look at the game from different angles.

it's called a cardrush. Pokerstars has no reason to be crooked. If it was crooked nobody would play there, and therefore no money. They make like a bajillion dollars a day, so their mindset is to be as straight as they can possibly be.
jonnec Nov 7, 2007 4:59 pm
Indeed a very interesting post.
ronmoney Nov 7, 2007 5:01 pm

LMAO....I played a RB freeroll the other day (ya ya, its a freeroll, probably doesn't apply)....Anyways, I purposely played wrong. I went all in with 72 three times. The first time I lost on the river (LOL, got rivered with 72). The other two times I crushed AK and pocket J's. I knocked out AA with 106 offsuit (I raised preflop). I was basically playing ATC poker. At break, I had a little over 12k in chips. I didn't get a chance to finish, because I had to go to work, but wow, that was the best I have done in a freeroll in quite a while. So, I am not saying its rigged, but their may be a glitch somewhere.....

GL on the flop

lotsilora Nov 7, 2007 5:02 pm

In no way am I stating pokerstars is crooked I watck all the big money games and I play there a lot what I am saying is that certain seats go through a series of wins when they should not even have been in the hand I see it all the time

Big example Jamie Gold in the WSOP he was catching cards like no tommorrow 1 outers on the river like crazy you just have to recognize when youor a player at your table has the horshe shoe and use it to your advantage

16 out of 21 with cards I should not even have been playing should proove what I am saying and this is not the first time this has happened

all it proves is a rush for 16 out of 21 hands...let us know when you win the tournament...did you forget to mention that part of this game?...how did your hands go after this rush?...were you in the money?...or did this play eventually catch up to you and rail you?...but keep defending your position that there's faulty software out there and we can all take advantage of it...i'll stick with playing poker...

"Card rushes", "cycles", etc are all part of the statistics.

The basic theory of statistics is that odds even out over a period of time. You have to look at a very large sample to see things even out in poker.

Statistical theory supports that while each occurance is independent of every other occurance, that odds will even out over a large enough sample. So this means that if you "run bad" for a while, you are going to have to "run good" for a while in order to even it out.

OKay. I dug out my thumb drive (where I have this stuff saved.) There 1326 possible hands for you to have. And that is just your hoel cards. Add the other players at the table and the possible combination of cards on the flop, turn, and river, and I think you would have to document this playing style over at LEAST 100,000 hands for any analysis to statistical validity. Keep up that style of play over 100,000 hands and then you MIGHT be able to draw some conclusions.
